When to use
Only with confirmed low ferritin or clinician-diagnosed iron deficiency.
Dose & schedule
- 40–65 mg elemental iron every other day.
- Take with water or vitamin C; avoid with calcium, tea, or coffee.
Retest
Recheck ferritin at 6–8 weeks and adjust with your clinician.
Safety
- GI side effects are common; consider different salts if needed.
- Keep out of reach of children.
